Singing Paddles.co.uk is a wonderful set up for 2 hour, half day or full day paddling expeditions either in a canoe or kayak.

Food and Drink

The Church House Inn, Stokenham ( 01548 580253), a welcoming spacious pub with a more bistro menu of great local produce from hand dived scallops to steak or fish and chips with a great choice of beers and wine. Simon Cadman is a really excellent chef and our daughter Sally particularly enjoys the playground! 

The Tradesmans Arms, Stokenham (01548 580996), is a beautiful cosy thatched building on the main old street of the village with a terrace outside enjoying lovely views across the green. They serve excellent food and a fabulous Sunday lunch. Well worth booking. 

Visit our fantastic local Stokeley Farm Shop, fifteen minutes walk or a short drive away. It is managed by Sue Tucker who is always ready to help with info on all their local produce. Within the shop is a great little restaurant and cafe and a well stocked garden section supplied by Hill House, a local nursery and plant centre. Within the farm shop Paul Durrant of Ken Durrant Butchers sells really superb locally sourced meat and game of an exceptional standard and reasonably priced. Ring them direct on 01548 580217.

There are many other local pubs, cafes and restaurants that we would be happy to recommend. 

Chillington House Bed and Breakfast Hotel is in the next door village and provides really excellent pristine stylish accommodation. They welcome both children and pets. Visit their website www.chillingtonhouse.co.uk or ring 01548 580012.

Chillihols in Chillington is an really great self catering set up that is both immaculate and characterful. They have two cottages one of which is a private wing of a Georgian former farmhouse and the other a converted cider press barn. If your party requires more rooms than Stokenham House can provide then you can book chillihols and then the whole group can breakfast at Stokenham House.
